Before you delete: take your data with you

Deletion cannot be undone, and your reflections and journal entries are often the part people most regret losing. In the same place as the delete button you will find Export all my data (JSON) and Download my conversations, which gives you a readable transcript of your Sparky sessions. Both are free and take a few seconds.

Delete your Dive Deep Dating data

1. Sign in and open your Growth Dashboard.
2. Scroll to the bottom, to Your cloud data.
3. Tap Delete all my dating data.
4. Decide whether to tick Also delete my Sparky data in every other Dive Deep Dialogues app. Leave it unticked to keep your coaching in the other apps.
5. Type the confirmation shown, then confirm.

Deletion happens immediately and you cannot undo it. Your Dive Deep Dialogues login stays active, so you can keep using other apps in the family. See below if you want that gone as well.

There is a separate Clear local data option under Your data on this device. That only clears what this browser holds and leaves anything stored in your account untouched. A copy on another phone or computer stays there until you clear it on that device too.

If you never created an account

Without an account, your journal, reflections, tracked apps and session history are kept in the browser you used, not on our servers. Use Clear local data on the Growth Dashboard, on each device you used.

Two things can still be on our servers for a guest: your chats with Sparky, if you had any, and copies an earlier version of the app made by mistake (our Privacy Policy explains). Both are held under a guest identity stored in that browser. Delete all my dating data, in the same place, removes everything held on our servers under that guest identity and clears the device. A guest's Sparky profile is also deleted automatically after 60 days without use.

What is deleted

• Your session history: every First Dates and Long Game session, with your ratings and your own notes
• Your private reflections and journal entries
• Your Dive Deep Dating coaching profile and your entire chat history with Sparky in this app
• Your dating-app tracker entries and monthly debriefs
• Your compatibility and readiness results
• The copy this device holds, so you are not left looking at stale data

This covers both places we store things: the Dive Deep Dating database and the separate knowledge-hub database where Sparky's conversations live. One action clears both.

Sparky in other Dive Deep Dialogues apps is left alone. Sparky remembers you across the family of apps, so this deletes your dating coaching and nothing else. If you want Sparky to forget you everywhere, tick “Also delete my Sparky data in every other Dive Deep Dialogues app” in the confirmation step. It is off unless you choose it.

Deleting your whole Dive Deep Dialogues account

Your login is shared across the Dive Deep Dialogues family of apps, so deleting your dating data deliberately leaves it alone. To remove the identity itself, use the self-service page on our account hub:

Delete my Dive Deep Dialogues account

That one runs on a 30-day grace period. Nothing is destroyed immediately and you can cancel any time within those 30 days by signing in again. After 30 days it is permanent.

Delete your dating data first. Deleting your Dive Deep Dialogues account removes your login and your Sparky conversations, but it does not reach the Dive Deep Dating database yet. If you delete the account without deleting your dating data, your journal, session history and reflections stay on our systems with no login left to reach them. So follow the steps above before you delete the account. If you have already deleted it, email us (below) and we will remove what is left.

If you cannot get into the app

Email [email protected] from the address on your account, with the subject line “Delete my Dive Deep Dating account”. We action requests within 30 days and confirm by reply. We will ask you to verify the address, because otherwise anyone who knows your email could delete your account.

What is kept, and for how long

• Purchase records: we never see or hold your card details. Payments are processed by PayPal, which keeps its own transaction records under its policies. We keep our own payment records (amounts, dates and transaction IDs) for 7 years, to meet our record-keeping obligations as an Australian business.
• Anything still running: add-ons are one-off three-month purchases that do not auto-renew, so there is nothing to cancel and nothing left billing you. The ecosystem subscriptions (DDD Plus, Family and Family+) are monthly and recurring, and deleting your dating data does not cancel one. Cancel it in PayPal or from your Dive Deep Dialogues account, or it will keep billing.
• Emails you have sent us: these sit in our support mailbox and are not removed by the delete button. Ask us and we will delete them.
• What Sparky's AI provider holds: Sparky's replies are written by Anthropic's Claude. Anthropic says it deletes the messages it receives within 30 days, and keeps for longer only those its safety systems flag.
• Usage counters: how many Sparky messages you have sent each day (a number, not what they said), kept so the daily limit cannot be reset by deleting and starting again. These go when you delete your whole Dive Deep Dialogues account.
• A session you are in right now: a live session is shared with the other person, so it stays until it expires (four hours after it starts) and is cleared by a daily clean-up. The other person's own history of a session you shared is theirs and is not deleted.
• Things you sent us outside your account: a newsletter sign-up, a contact form message, or a reflection you sent from an Insights article are not tied to your login. Use the unsubscribe link in any email, or email us and we will remove them.
• Aggregate statistics: counts that never identified you (how many sessions were run in a month, for instance) stay in our totals.

Everything listed under “What is deleted” is removed from our live systems at the moment you delete, and you cannot get it back. The Dive Deep Dating database keeps a rolling 7-day recovery copy for emergencies; what you deleted leaves that copy within 7 days.
